Elite is a first-generation family-owned business, which means your success
is personal to us.

Kirk Patterson is a Colorado native and got started on the ground floor with his first job at a large midstream company. After advancing into positions of increasing responsibility, he founded Elite Services in 2007 to provide the highest level of measurement performance to energy companies. In 2016 Kirk founded Elite Technologies, making Elite a full-service provider of quality measurement services and products.

Since then, the Elite team has grown and built a reputation on safety, quality and results. As measurement experts, we take your natural gas and liquids measurement challenges seriously, because we know in many cases measurement is the “cash register” of your business.

We treat our team like family and deliver our offerings and expertise as if your business were our own. The Elite experience is based on helping you succeed, because if you don’t, we won’t.

Change is inevitable in the cyclical oil and gas industry, and Elite has evolved over time to meet the growing needs of upstream and midstream companies. Part of this evolution is an upgrade to our brand and logo but fear not. Whether you know us as Elite Services or ESI, our culture and commitment has not changed.

Meet Our Team

Kirk Patterson - President and Co-Owner

A Colorado native, Kirk has devoted his entire 27-year career to measurement and field service in the oil & gas industry. After beginning his career as an instrument tech with a large DJ-based midstream operator, Kirk formed Elite Services in 2006, and Elite Technologies in 2016. Over the years, Kirk has established himself as a trusted expert in measurement, is certified as a Master Meter Prover, and frequently consults with BLM and other organizations on measurement topics. Kirk enjoys refurbishing and showing his classic car collection, as well as spending time with Shantelle and their young son.

Shantelle Patterson - Co-Owner

As co-owner, Shantelle manages all back office activities and is active with her husband, Kirk, on strategy for the Elite Companies. When she is not supporting Elite, Shantelle is a certified horse trainer who owns three horses, and works full time taking care of their young son.

James Covney - Business Development

A resident of Colorado for over 35 years, James has worked with industrial customers in this area for over 20 years. He joined Elite Technologies when it was formed in 2016, and leads Sales and Business Development activities. James is well known as a technical and commonsense resource for operators, and has a broad knowledge of measurement applications and accessories. He will work with you to find the most effective and cost effective solution. James takes your project seriously and will work hard to earn your trust.

Dave “Woody” Woodhams - Sales

Woody has spent his entire life in North Dakota, and worked in the oil & gas industry for over 40 years as a field service manager, production engineer, and in sales. He works very closely with customers to get them the supplies they need to keep the oil and gas flowing! In Williston, Woody maintains an inventory of a wide range of accessory and supply items our industry needs. He serves eastern Montana and North Dakota operators with personal service.

Aaron Cary - Designer/Draftsman

Aaron joined Elite in early 2022. He is a certified SolidWorks professional who enjoys working with operators to create a design that is both effective and cost effective for them.  Aaron received a BA in Psychology from the University of Colorado in 2006 and an AA in Science in 2022.

Steve Smith - Quality Control

Steve joined the manufacturing team at Elite in 2016. He leads our fabrication team, providing project management, and training. He is on the shop floor every day insuring your equipment meets or exceeds your expectations!

Jennifier Miller - Accounting

Jennifier joined Elite in 2018 and handles accounts receivable and provides customer service. She is responsible for order accuracy, timely business processes and rapid customer responsiveness to customer service needs.  She is currently studying wildlife biology at Aims Community College.
